IndigiQueer Night
A dedicated space centering Two Spirit and LGBTQIA+ Indigenous voices, joy, and community — created and championed by Director Kristin Hoover Gentry.
IndigiQueer Night is a signature programming event at IndigiPopX, created and championed by Director Kristin Hoover Gentry — a Two Spirit artist — as a dedicated space centering Two Spirit and LGBTQIA+ Indigenous voices, joy, and community.
The inaugural IndigiQueer Night at IndigiPopX 2024 in Oklahoma City was programmed by Two Spirit film director, fashion designer, and beloved IPX cosplayer Peshawn Bread. The evening featured the premiere screening of Peshawn's mockumentary A Day in the Life of Mistress Red, an adults-only 21+ cosplay contest, specialized mocktails, Two Spirit burlesque performers, and a live DJ set by DJ Werewulf — Kiowa/Mvskoke artist Micah Wesley. The night was emceed by Nathalie Standingcloud.
Year Two of IndigiQueer Night was held in Durham, NC at the Velvet Hippo, honoring the memory of Jonathan Joss. The evening brought together the community for Two Spirit cosplay, live music, and celebration of the bonds that make IndigiPopX more than a convention.
